In 2012 a small group of us visited Kibera, one of Africa’s largest slums. We came across an amazing lady called Margaret, who was looking after 13 children from the streets of Kibera. Her basic shelter had no beds, cots, blankets, toys or spare clothes, and it became clear to us that we could help change this.

RISE projects aim to provide challenging and exciting contexts in which young people can support others far less fortunate than themselves and develop their social, moral and cultural fabric in the process.
